Ffestiniog Travel is always delighted to receive feedback from customers about their rail journeys and holidays, so when we received a picture postcard style slide show from one couple we felt impelled to share their travels and memories as a photo blog.
The travelling duo, who prefer to remain anonymous, have put together a wonderful photo travelogue of their journey through the ‘land of the midnight sun’. Ffestiniog Travel was instrumental in planning and arranging the couple’s rail route which began with a train journey to Hamburg and followed a route through Northern Germany across to Denmark and through Norway. The holiday took in the sights of Denmark’s capital Copenhagen, Norway’s capital Oslo, crossed the Arctic Circle by train and travelled through the wilderness country to Bodø at the terminus of the Norwegian railway where they visited many of the small islands enjoying the wildlife and fauna.
Their photo blog is a useful guide to what to expect from a rail holiday through Norway, highlighting places of interest in the cities and amazing scenery en route.
Ffestiniog Travel’s Ticket Only services regularly provide travellers with advice and solutions on how to travel by train through various destinations that enable you to visit specific points and landmarks en route – no matter how complicated. Our photo blog authors are familiar with Ffestiniog Travel, having used the company's services several times and were even complimentary when their Norwegian holiday encountered a slight hitch:
“Ruth Willmore did a wonderful job in 2015, checking my plans and purchasing all the rail tickets to travel across Europe to Northern Norway. What was wonderful was that she sent me an email when we were already in Oslo, to warn us of a rail strike, when we'd planned to travel on the Flam railway. Having the email enabled us to make alternative arrangements to get to Balestrand. Also on our return, Ruth managed to get the price of the tickets refunded!”
