Titisee is an excellent centre for exploring the Black Forest. It is also a lovely resort in its own right and ideal for a walking holiday with a network of well-marked footpaths. In addition to the normal public transport services, the Wutachtal and Kandertal steam railways are easily reached by regular rail service.
ITINERARY
Day 1 - London to Aachen
Depart on Eurostar at lunchtime from London St Pancras to Brussels, then onwards connection to Aachen. Overnight on b&b basis.
Day 2 - Via Rhine Valley to Titisee
Leave Aachen after breakfast and travel via Cologne and the Rhine valley as far as Freiburg. Continue by local train to Titisee in the Black Forest. Stay 5 nights on b&b basis.
Days 3 to 6 - Days at Leisure in Titisee
Free days based in the beautiful lakeside resort of Titisee. Titisee is a perfect base to explore the Black Forest and one of the scenic highlights is undoubtedly Titisee Lake. Since its conversion to a pedestrian zone and waterfront promenade, Seestraße is considered the loveliest street for strolling and shopping in the southern Black Forest. Why not visit Badparedis Shwarzwald where you can enjoy a fun filled day of splashing around this indoor waterpark with 23 slides and it's very own wavepool. Alternatively you can play a round of mini-golf before a visit to Marklin World to view the miniature railway exhibits. Included in your holiday is the Konus travel card giving unlimited travel during your stay on regional trains, bus and tram services. The area covered by the card stretches as far south as Basel and as far north as Karlsruhe.
Day 7 - Return to Aachen
Return by train via Freiburg to Aachen for an overnight stay on b&b basis.
Day 8 - To London
Lunchtime departure from Aachen to Brussels, connecting with Eurostar to London St Pancras.
