The German city of Düsseldorf was named in the top 20 best places to live in 2018. Its modern architecture, art culture and vibrant social scene now rivals many well-known, higher profile cities. It has also gained a reputation for playing host to some of the world’s major international exhibitions and trade fairs, so welcomes both business and leisure travellers on a frequent basis. It is particularly famous for its fashion and trade fairs and plays host to food, leisure, sport, manufacturing and technology exhibitions. The city is well served by its international airport and it has one of the busiest train stations in Germany, with over 1,000 trains passing through the city every day. Those who attend the many business and consumer events at the city’s various exhibition centres have plenty of accommodation options to choose from and can easily combine visits to exhibition events whilst enjoying the city’s fine arts and cultural aspects.
Ffestiniog Travel was asked to arrange travel and accommodation for a customer who wanted to attend the annual Boot Düsseldorf, one of the world's premier boat shows with some 1,600 exhibitors from over 50 countries - considered a benchmark for the international boat and water sports industry. The itinerary below can be adapted for visits to many of Düsseldorf’s exhibitions and fairs and we can arrange sightseeing for extended stays.
